Yes, and it’s backed by scientific evidence. Multiple third-party studies have confirmed ultrasonic technology as the most effective cleaning method for oral appliances. In an in-house study comparing the Dental Pod to other common cleaning methods (such as brushing, rinsing, and soaking in sterilising tablet solutions), the Dental Pod was shown to remove significantly more fungus from clear aligners than any other method tested.

No, the ultrasonic cleaning method is completely non-abrasive. It creates millions of microscopic bubbles which gently but thoroughly clean the entire surface of the appliance causing no damage. The Dental pod is designed to safely clean all kinds of materials ranging from metal to aligner plastic.

The Dental Pod effectively and safely cleans a wide range of dental appliances, including clear aligners, retainers (both clear and traditional Hawley types), night guards, bite guards, and all industry-available types of dentures. The Dental Pod has been specifically designed and tested to deliver professional-grade cleaning for all these items.

The Dental Pod is designed for personal use and can effectively clean a pair of appliances from the same user at the same time. We would not recommend using it to clean appliances from multiple patients, as this increases the risk of cross-contamination and infection.

In certain situations, UV light can effectively sanitise objects, but didn't make sense to integrate into the Dental Pod. The cleaning agents in our Ultrasonic Boosting Tablets are significantly more effective than UV for oral appliances. UV also requires specific design considerations in order to be effective, which would weaken the more important ultrasonic effect.

The Dental Pod is designed for safe, effective, and effortless use. It features an automatic stop function that ends the cleaning cycle after 5 minutes, one click is all that’s needed for a thorough clean. Patients should always use cold tap water to avoid the temperature rising above the recommended safe level for appliances. Please note that the Dental pod has an active heat regulation system to mitigate this risk. Patients can run up to two consecutive cycles, always ensuring they replace the water each time (cold). For additional cycles, we recommend waiting at least 5 minutes between each cycle.

Zima UV Case is powered by an efficient, built-in 300 mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Once dissolved in water, our tablets release antimicrobial agents that disinfect appliances of bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Containing natural surfactants, our tablets also work to reduce surface tension and assist in the breakdown and removal of debris. This works in conjunction with other agents that help lift stains and discoloration, and natural mint oils that leave a cooling and fresh taste.
